Do I Need a Doctor Referral?

What is Direct Access, and what does it have to do with me?

Most people have Direct Access but very few people actually know it.  Direct Access allows you to come directly to Physical Therapy for most mild to moderate sprains, strains, bumps, and bruises, and the vast majority of health insurance companies in Idaho will pay for it.

If the Physical Therapist's initial evaluation finds that your problem falls in the scope of our practice we will discuss options with you and can begin treatment that day.  For a listing of a few of RehabAuthority's services please use the directory to the left.

If the type and severity of the problem warrants further evaluation by a physician the PT will refer you to an appropriate doctor.  An advantage of putting Direct Access to work for you is being able to see a Therapist usually within 24 hours of calling us.

Most Idaho insuranlce companies allot a certain dollar amount (per year) specifically for Physical Therapy.  If your benefits are not used by the end of your calendar year they expire and you are issued new benefits.

Does your insurance allow Direct Access to Physical Therapy?  You can call the number found on the back of your insurance card and speak to an operator, or call RehabAuthority's Billing Office at (208) 461-4505

If you, a friend, or family member are having problems and not living life to the fullest because of pain or injury, please, call us to discuss your options in regard to Physical Therapy.
