Nicole Walker, PT, MPT
The “sidelines” is a place that Nikki Walker doesn’t know much about. Life has never been a spectator sport with Nikki. Born in Watford City, North Dakota, with a current population of 1,408, she moved with her family to Twin Falls, Idaho, at the age of 12, young enough to almost be considered an Idaho native.
After graduating from Twin Falls High School, she enrolled in Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) where she immediately jumped in, not only into her academic studies, but, determined to make a difference, into student government as well. As a sophomore she served as Sophomore Class Secretary. With the precedent set and driven to be a “cause” and not just an “effect”, she then served as a member of the Junior Class Social Board and finally as Senior Class President her senior year.
After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Physical Therapy at NNU, she entered the Idaho State University (ISU) Physical Therapy program, receiving her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2004. While studying at ISU, she and three other students conducted a study on “Health-related quality of life in rural seniors” and was published in the Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy. They then were invited to present their findings at the American Physical Therapy Association meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nikki joined the Back Therapy Team at RehabAuthority after completing her Master degree determined to help her patients “Feel Good Again!” When Nikki is not in the clinic treating patients, she is usually spending time with her husband Ted.
